Media registration is open for the 2022 APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting (MRT) to be hosted by Thailand on 21-22 May. The meeting includes trade ministers from APEC’s 21 economies and will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand, Jurin Laksanawisit.
It is also open for the Second APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting on 18-19 May, to be led by Thailand’s Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Thani Thongphakdi, who is also the 2022 Chair of APEC Senior Officials, as well as a cluster of trade and sectoral official meetings from 9 to 17 May.
This includes the APEC Safe Passage Taskforce meeting on 16 May and a dedicated session on the Bangkok Goals on the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy on 17 May, among others.
• The 2022 APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting (MRT)
Media who wish to cover the MRT must be registered through online the registration portal at https://apecmrt2022.dtn.go.th/register/media. Members of the media should register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and providing the following information:
o Profile picture
o Full name
o Phone number
o Email address
o Passport details and copy of passport page
o Intended address in Thailand
o Assignment letter from media organization
o List of meetings to attend
Approved applicants will receive an email of confirmation containing a username and password. The deadline for the MRT media registration is 10 May 2022. There will be no on-site media registration.
Approved registrants may collect media ID badges at the APEC MRT registration desk located on the 22nd floor Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World at the following hours:
19 May : 14.00-17.00
20-22 May: 08.00-17.00

• The Second APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM2)
All media registration for SOM2 will be accredited by the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
Media who already completed the prior registration through the APEC 2022 Media Portal can participate in the SOM2 media conference either physically or virtually. Members of the media who have not registered should register by emailing email@example.com and by providing valid identification, including the name of your media organization and a letter confirming employment by your media organization with your organization’s letterhead.
Approved applicants will receive an email of confirmation with further information regarding account set up. The deadline for the SOM2 media registration is 17 May 2021.
