Coronavirus cases top 20 mil. globally: U.S. tally

TOKYO – The number of confirmed coronavirus infections worldwide has surpassed the 20 million mark, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University of the United States.

Global cases totaled 20,004,254 with a death toll of 733,929, according to the tally, monitored Tuesday in Tokyo.

Of the total cases, 5,088,516 were in the United States, 3,057,470 in Brazil and 2,215,074 in India. Japan’s cases stood at 49,608.
